| To introduce the service excellence program to our customers and to provide on site information, in spring 2006 Voith Turbo India had organized a customer seminar which was titled "Maintenance of Voith hydraulic couplings". 93 engineers from 53 companies participated in this seminar. Apart from four OEM companies participants came from operation and maintenance departments of power stations, where a respectable number of Voith couplings are in operation for many years. As these plants are spread all over the country, quite a few of the participants had traveled over a distance of 2000 km to attend this seminar.
Also service experts from Voith Germany attended the seminar giving presentations along with Indian colleagues on different subjects related to product construction, operation & maintenance, optimization, quality, trouble shooting. A lively question & answer session was arranged on the last day. Nearly 200 questions were passed on to Voith using the questionnaires distributed to the participants. As many of them could not be taken up for discussion during the seminar due to shortage of time, Voith India committed to send individual written answers to all of the participants within four weeks. Based on the feedback form that were filled out at the end, the participants showed that they were very happy with the result of the seminar and considered it very useful and helpful for their future work. Furthermore and recommended to repeat such meetings every two years to get a better picture about operation and service VOITH couplings.
During the seminar, hard work was mixed with pleasure. On the evening all the participants were taken to a historical fort called "Golkonda Fort" where they witnessed a "light and sound" show. Besides, they enjoyed the information on the historical background of this old city of Hyderabad. followed by a get-together with cocktail & dinner at a historical restaurant named "Taramati Baradari". |
